I think the saying “Good things come to those who wait” is one of the single most destructive pieces of advice you can receive as child. There is no such thing as good luck.
There is merely the reward that comes from living in a way that makes the most of opportunities. Good luck is about being able to see opportunities and take risks to make the most of them.
We should be saying to our children “Good things come to those who take action”.
All those changes, improvements and achievements you wish for in your life, they are waiting for you to find them. They will not come to you.
THEY WILL NOT COME TO YOU!
Think of those good things as blind mice, running around lost in a forest. They will never find you if you’re sitting at home, watching TV and just waiting.
You need to go out to the woods and start searching. Along the way you will learn more effective ways to search, which parts of the woods the mice are more likely to be in, how to spot opportunities to lead the mice to you, and so on.
At first, it’s possible that all you’ll learn is what doesn’t work. This is the test that you must pass to attain success. This takes a while, and your stamina will determine your success. Perseverance is a tool that can make up for total loss of hope.
Answer this question:
“When will I take action to start achieving my dream lifestyle?”
If the answer is anything other than “Right now”, then it may was well be “Never”.
You are flesh, bone, organs and blood just like everyone else. There is nothing others can do that you can’t also do. You will only believe this once you start actually trying to do it.
