A lot of People Pleasers pride themselves on being generous and giving. The simple fact is of course that they’re not really. Everything comes with a condition. Everything is designed to manipulate people into giving the people pleaser himself a reward. One way that you can tweak this behavior to make sure it’s with integrity, is to switch from people-pleasing to service. Now, service is about you behaving and doing what’s right for you in a way that is valuable to others. Even if they don’t appreciate it and even if other people mock you or hate you for it. Whereas people-pleasing is just designed to provoke an immediate pleasurable sensation that makes them like you more, which is completely different.
