Why do men believe marriage is a trap?

I think it’s because they’ve taken a close look at the data — but only the data about when it goes wrong.

They see that around 55% of marriages in the United States end in divorce — which is true.

However, they don’t look at India, where it’s 1%.

They don’t look at other countries where the percentages are much lower.

They also don’t look at the fact that a lot of those U.S. stats are skewed by repeat divorces.

People who get divorced more than once — they get married 2, 3, sometimes 4, 5, even 6 times — and every one of those counts toward the statistic.

The people who get married once and stay married don’t have as much weight in those findings as the people who repeatedly get divorced.

In other words — the stats are heavily influenced by people who aren’t good at maintaining long-term, healthy relationships — for whatever reason.

And then you’ve got cases like custody battles.

You hear about the father losing custody and being alienated from his kid —
and yes, that does happen. It’s fucking horrible.

However, it’s not the majority of cases.

In most cases, custody is settled out of court, amicably.

If it gets to court, you’ve already got big problems.

But of course, the data doesn’t measure how many people settle and co-parent well.

It only measures the cases that go to court — so the data is going to be very skewed.

Not untruthful — just out of context.

That’s one of the biggest problems with the Red Pill narrative: half the stuff they look at is true, but it’s pulled completely out of context.
