Embracing Fear: The True Essence of Bravery

Bravery is not about being fearless, because that’s impossible—or psychopathic.

Instead, bravery is about moving forward despite feeling fear. It’s about willingly engaging in behaviours that make you emotionally uncomfortable and actually increasing that discomfort by choice.

Courage is about understanding that feeling emotionally uncomfortable is not a signal to stop moving forward; it’s actually a signal that you’re growing.

Think of fear as your outer boundary—it’s the limit of what you’re capable of. Whatever you’re too afraid of is unavailable to you.

The more you expand your threshold for fear, the more you’re able to handle being afraid, the more options become available to you.

Eventually, you can reach a point where you know you’ll be able to move through any fear as it comes up—and that’s when you’ll be limitless.

Bravery doesn’t need to impress anyone else. It just needs to be something that’s uncomfortable for you.

  1. A simple way to build bravery is to always choose the slightly less comfortable way of doing everything, even small daily activities
